About BSEM:
The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur was established by an Act of Manipur Legislative Assembly in 1972. By the amendment of the Act in 2004, besides the academic activities, the prescription of conditions for granting recognition of standard I and VIII were also entrusted to the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur. At present 786 high and higher secondary schools (226 Government, 103 Government aided and 457 Private) are affiliated to the Board for certification at end of secondary stage i.e. class X. The schools in the state are either managed by the government or by private bodies.
